2013 In Review

It is hard to believe 2013 has come to an end and 2014 is upon us already.  

2013 was a great year for our family.  These are some of the highlights...

Taegan was potty trained and had her first hair-cut.  We found out in March we would be adding a baby boy to our family. I spent the majority of the year, growing this healthy little boy!  Taegan got to build her first snowman.  I started our family blog, Our Homemade Happiness.  Brandon and I went on our first get away since having Taegan to Virginia Beach.

In May we moved Taegan into a big girl bed and went on a family beach trip to OBX.  While in the Outer Banks, NC Brandon and I celebrated our 7th anniversary.  Once we got back we kicked baby preparation into high gear and had a great baby shower for Silas.  Brandon grew his hair out (see pictures above)...then luckily decided to cut it again!

In July we welcome Silas Raines into our family!  He was born at home and things could not have been more perfect.  This was definitely the highlight of our year. 

Brandon also participated in the Master Firefighter promotional process at work (LFD) and will officially be promoted within the next 6 months. 

This past fall Mike and Pam moved into their new house and Papa Barney bought a Mule, which we have all enjoyed.  Taegan started Pre-School and celebrated her 3rd birthday with a princess party.  Brandon's Aunt Sharon, Uncle Pat, and cousin McCrea visited from New Orleans for Thanksgiving.  Silas has grown so fast and wants to get into everything and put everything in his mouth.  He has learned how to roll both ways, play in his exersaucer, and reach for who he wants to hold him...if only he could learn to sleep at night!  

2013 was such an exciting year.  We can not wait to find out what amazing things God has in store for our family in 2014!
