Happy Independence Day!
The majority of Thursday July 4th was a typical day for our family. I had to work 7:00am-3:00pm and Brandon was taking advantage of a much awaited sunny day with his Dad and brother working on his parents house...they finally got to start on the floor joists (yay for wood)! Taegan hung out with Grandma Barney (Brandon's Mom) and skipped back and forth between our house and the construction site checking on Daddy, Papa, and Uncle Stewart. Once I got home from work we all relaxed for a little while and then headed over to my parents house to cook out with Lauren, Justin, Monica, and Holton. We ate yummy "traditional" Independence Day food...hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, potato casserole, and angel food cake and strawberries for dessert.
Our plans were to do the "All American" thing and go to the Hill-Cats baseball game and then watch the fireworks after the game with Lauren, Justin, Monica, and Holton. However, it seems the rest of Lynchburg had the same idea and the stadium was at capacity when we got there so instead we went to Putt-Putt and then came back and parked and watched the fireworks.
Taegan was Aunt Lauren's buddy all night! It was her first time riding Go-Carts and she loved it! It turns out we had just as much fun, if not more than we would have had at the crowded stadium. We are enjoying every day we have left as a family of 3 and making lots of sweet memories!
